Dublin, St. James's Court, Malahide
Herbert & Sons Limited registered as a branch in Ireland on 18 Sep 1979, with its registered office in St James's Court, Malahide, Co. Dublin.
Tesco had bought 3 Guys, an Irish supermarket chain, in 1979, and we took a lease of these premises in the Dublin area for a service depot with which to support their expansion.
It was not a successful venture, and Tesco sold off 3 Guys in March 1986, although we had by then closed this depot.
Tesco re-entered the market in 1997 with the purchase of the Irish retailing operations of Associated British Foods, trading as Quinnsworth and Crazy Prices, now renamed Tesco Ireland.
