George Hunt

George Hunt (1894 - 1985)

 

George Hunt was born in Maidstone on 3rd December 1894 and joined the company in 1926.  He was our ‘B’ Department, Butchers Sundries Sales, representative in Kent until his retirement on 15th January 1960 after 34 years service.

 

He is pictured here at the Lion Society 25 year dinner at the Rutland Hotel Smithfield on 30th September 1950.

 

The Lion News said that George was ‘a real dour man of Kent, born and bred – his father farmed in the county’.  ‘For many years his hobby was pigeon racing and his birds were successful in winning many of the well known events’.

 

George died on 5th July 1985 at the age of 91.
