P A Davis

Mr Davis joined the Company in November 1925, retiring as manager of ‘B’ Department, Butchers Sundries Sales, in August 1960 after nearly 35 years service.

 

He was present at the Lion Society 25 year dinner at the Rutland Hotel Smithfield on 30th September 1950, and is shown right here at a butchery exhibition in Margate in May 1954 with Mr Kingham, "B” Dept representative, and Jim Herbert.

Mr Davis is pictured in the ‘Herberts Two Hundred’ feature in the Meat Marketing Journal dated February 1960 with the following caption “In the picture right, the general factotum at West Smithfield, Mr F.D.Harsant, 41 years service (left) is seen with the Sundries manager, Mr. P.A. Davis.”

The Lion News reported that on his retirement he had taken on the Argyle Guest House at 32 Cambridge Gardens, Hastings.
