Les Branscombe

Leslie Henry G Branscombe (1908 – 1980)

 

Les Branscombe was born in Edmonton on 23rd July 1908, and joined the Company in 1951 as a "dilutee”.  He carried out his initial training at Edmonton, later becoming an outside service mechanic where he operated in the North London area for 23 years.

 

Les retired in January 1974, when the Lion News said that he was ‘A sturdy, independent character, never afraid to express his opinion forcibly, he will be missed at the London Branch’.

 

Les moved to Fareham in Hampshire, and died on 9th January 1980, having failed to survive an operation.
