Henry Oatham

Henry George Oatham

 

Henry Oatham was born in Poplar in October 1885, and started work with the Company in 1936 as one of the clerical staff in Head Office at 38 Charterhouse Street.

 

When Henry retired at the age of 74 in 1959, the Lion News reported that he had been ‘a tower of strength in that department ever since’.  He had wished to retire slightly prior to the move of Head Office to Angel Road, Edmonton, but willingly stayed on to help over the initial “settling in” period.

 

Henry was 91 years of age when he died on 17th September 1977.
