Charlie Read

Conrad Stanley Read (1899 – 1962)

 

Conrad Read was born in Woolwich on 5th September 1899, we do not know why or when he became called Charlie.

 

He married Constance Andrews in 1922, and joined the Company in September 1948. Shortly afterwards he became our ‘S' Dept representative in West London, a territory he was working at the time of his death on 2nd August 1962.

 

The Lion News carried a short obituary, reporting that Charlie was ‘cheery and easy going, liked and respected both by his friends in the Company and the customers.’
