Elsie Kitchen

Jessie Elizabeth Elsie Kitchen (1908 – 1997)

 

Elsie Station was born in Brentford on 13th October 1908, and married Stan Kitchen in Hammersmith in 1933.

 

Elsie started working for the Company as a Wages Clerk in September 1936, and moved with her husband to Haverhill when we opened our new factory in August 1968.

 

After the payroll was computerised Elsie moved to the switchboard, and retired in September 1974, when the Lion News reported that ‘at a small informal gathering Mr Wheeler presented her with a cheque on behalf of the Company.  Mr Morgan presented her with a bouquet of flowers, also an engraved pen and pencil set from her friends in the Company.'

 

Elsie died in Haverhill in 1997.
