Counter Weighing Machine 14lb

Counter weighing machines were of a common form, and were the ‘bread & butter' scale for everyday use in food markets and smaller shops.  Similar machines appear in all catalogues of the period, such as this one from 1890.

This 14lb Counter weighing machine with a 10" round china plate was sold by Herbert & Sons (Kings Cross) and dates to around 1900.
