Bill Burrows

William Burrows (1888 – 1969)

Bill Burrows joined the Company in 1928 as a member of our outside service staff.

He retired at the age of 70 in 1958 after 30 years of service, by which time he was responsible for all the ‘Big Stores’, Harrods, Selfridges and Whiteleys.

An expert bowls player, he had a full and happy retirement and in 1968 toured Spain with his son in a van specially fitted out with bunks.  A cheery character, he had a great spirit and zest for living.

Bill died in September 1969.
