1879 - Cutlers' Hall

An exhibition of cutlery was opened on Thursday, May 1st 1879 at Cutlers' Hall, which was then in Cloak Lane by Cannon St. Station in London, organised by the Worshipful Company of Cutlers.

The Senior Warden at the time, who became Master of the Cutlers' Company in July that year was William Adam Oldaker, father-in-law of William Alfred Herbert Snr.

Herbert & Sons were awarded a certificate for one of our butchers knives, and the report that appeared in the magazine ‘Iron' on Saturday, May 10th 1879 is shown on the right.
