Founders' Company - Jubilee Weight 2012

This weight was produced by the Worshipful Company of Founders to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty The Queen in 2012.

 

It was hand cast from solid brass, and sized by the Sizer of the Worshipful Company of Founders pursuant to the powers contained in its Charter of 1614.  It is hallmarked with the Founders Common Mark, a laverpot,together with the Mark of the City of London and the Avoirdupois Mark.

 

This 100g weight was produced in a limited edition of 200, of which this is No. 30.  It is 34mm in diameter. 

 

In 2012 the Founders' Company also revived its traditional right to search for and size weights in the City of London and three miles compass thereof pursuant to its Charter and Ordinances.

 

This weight was donated in 2015 to The Master of The Worshipful Company of Cutlers by The Master of The Worshipful Company of Founders, Patrick Draycott.
