7lb Counter Stand Box End Beam Scales, Iron beam and pillar, Japanned Black and Gold, Class III.

 

17” high, with an 8” white enamelled goods pan.

 

Manufactured by S Patston, a firm of London scalemakers who became E. Patston & Son.

 

These scales were restored by Len Patston himself in the 1980s.

 

Patstons were also a supplier to Herbert & Sons, as this entry in an 1857 - 1859 ledger shows, when they were in St Jude Street in Hackney.
