This Double Weighing Machine is described in the Medhurst Catalogue of c1870 as suitable for weighing ‘Flour, Corn, Seeds etc, with a top and bottom Weighing Board, that turns up in Front'.  The 3cwt model cost £5-5-0, and the 27cwt version £4-15-0.
