Business Card c1895

This Victorian business card carries a photograph of one of our products of the time, a ship coal scale.

 

It is very similar to the Medhurst design Fig 25 which used a beam scale, and which we had continued to manufacture after George Herbert had bought the Medhurst weighing business in 1881.

 

The beam has been replaced by a spring balance, most probably bought from Geo.Salter & Co, as our letter book shows that they were an important supplier at that time.
