1986 - Meatex

The Company exhibited at the Meatex Exhibition in March.

The invitation shown right was a mailshot to invite customers to come to our stand at Meatex 1986.

Lion News reported:

Following a major re-appraisal of our Marketing and Promotional strategies towards the end of last year, the Company decided to use this exhibition as the launch for its latest, very different, Sales Drive.

As the equipment we sell becomes larger and more complex, demonstrations at a customer's office or even at an exhibition have become less practical and useful.  We have therefore commissioned a series of video programmes featuring actual installations in real factories, to show our customers exactly the benefits they can obtain from Herbert's products.

In a final flurry of activity over the last three months the programmes were finished just in time for their official launch at the biggest exhibition in our calendar - Meatex '86 at the N.E.C. Birmingham.

To make full use of the videos and concentrate everyone's attention, the programmes were shown on two specially hired motorway liner coaches on the stand.  The idea was to make the biggest impact possible, and this certainly paid off.  A specially invited audience of our most important customers flocked into the luxury coaches over the four days of the exhibition to be given the Herbert 'treatment'.  They all went away with a much clearer idea of the products and services we can offer, and many were very enthusiastic and complimentary about the daring new way we had presented ourselves.

The results in terms of orders will of course take a little while to filter through, but judging from the follow up requests we have already received to see more programmes, and for us to demonstrate actual equipment, indicates that the rest of the year is likely to be a busy time for the Sales Divisions.
