Coin Scale c1780 by Thomas Croome

Scale with steel beam with swan neck terminals in a Japanned oval tin box 4½ in x 2 in.

 

The box has spaces containing two knobbed weights, a sovereign and half sovereign.

 

These were made by Thomas Croome, at the Justice & Scales, No 6 near Cow Lane, West Smithfield about 1780.
